It's that time of year again, Beatlemaniacs. From 22nd-28th August 2018, the streets, bars and venues of Liverpool will be taken over by events celebrating the famous Scouse foursome. Regarded as the foremost and most influential music band in history, Beatles fans flock to the city every year to share their mutual mania of the group.
Just a 2-minute walk from the Cavern Club - the venue at the heart of Beatleweek, Euro Hostel Liverpool couldn't be better located for visitors to make the most of this annual festival.
What to Expect from International Beatleweek
International Beatleweek is no small-scale event. 70 bands from over 20 countries turn up to play in various live music venues across Liverpool, and the Cavern's 3 stages are full all day, every day with a different band playing every hour! Fans will have no fear of missing out during the festival, with music starting at the Cavern Club & Live Lounge from 10:30am and late night parties rolling on til 5am on selected days
Annual Beatles Convention
The Annual Beatles Convention is an indisputable to-do for anyone who calls themselves a true fan. The Adelphi Hotel transforms into a hub of activity with live music all day, as well as films, guest speakers, a massive flea market filled with Beatles memorabilia and - our personal favourite - Ringo Bingo. Here Comes The Sun, number 1. Let It Be, 33… You get the idea.
Coachella's legendary 2016 line-up saw Sir Paul McCartney play alongside incredible musical icons Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Roger Waters and Neil Young. So this year, Beatleweek will re-enact the momentous event with 6 of the best tribute artists performing in Liverpool's Grand Central Hall at their very own Scousechella! Who needs California?!
It's George's Birthday
George Harrison would have been 75 this year, so to celebrate, restaurant-bar Alma de Cuba will host George's Birthday - a 6-hour celebration of the main man himself. Music will also play all day outside on the very popular and very cool patio stage. We've got our minds set on this one! (Pun intended, George fans!)
The Analogues Present "The White Album"
Dutch tribute act, The Analogues will perform "The White Album" at the Philharmonic Hall at 8pm on Friday, 24th August. At first, a shock to Beatles fans when it was first released in 1968 following the 'most important rock & roll album ever made' (Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band), The White Album now features as number 10 in Rolling Stone's definitive list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Of which, 5 Beatles albums feature in the top 20 alone. Not bad going for 4 lads from Liverpool!
Early Days at The Locarno
For the hopeless romantics out there, every year on Saturday during International Beatleweek, 'Early Days at The Locarno' takes place at the now-named Olympia, where the band played on Valentine's Day, 1963 as Beatlemania began to brainwash the nation. Continue your evening back at the Philharmonic Hall, where The Lennon & McCartney Songbook will take crowds through 60-years of songwriting genius, celebrating the success of both the band and their solo careers.
Whether you consider yourself a full-blown maniac, a bit Beatles curious or even just a lover of live music and late-night parties, you won't leave International Beatleweek disappointed.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay during the festival, Euro Hostel Liverpool is a 2-minute walk from the Cavern Club and comes with a wide range of comfortable, cost-friendly rooms.
