The Sage Gateshead
Live music is just one form of entertainment available at The Sage Gateshead. Along with two main stages of acoustic excellence, the venue boasts a 26-room music education centre, a music information resource centre, four bars, a brasserie and a café. However it is best known as a concert venue and continues to attract some of the biggest and respected names in music. The building itself is spectacular and, with free entry, is worth a look around. Distance from Hostel: 0.9 miles.
The Cluny is a live music venue, pub and café and is a regular fixture in the top 100 list of World’s Best Bars (currently the only pub in Newcastle upon Tyne to make the list). Opening its doors for the less well known artists, it is arguably the busiest of all the local venues with both stages being occupied by different artists more often than not. Combine this with great food and fantastic beers and there’s no doubt you’re in for a great night. Distance from Hostel: 0.8 miles.
